Chew on this: New listens from the herd — The week on APN — June 12-18

In light of all the ruminant-themed news across the province lately — from cheers for the newly named Edmonton Elks, to the prod toward the opening gates for that big ol' rodeo in Calgary — we've been doing our best to keep from ruminating on the worser stuff, like vaccine delays and variants of concern. Hard-headed, like the buffalo, you might say. (Fittingly, the collective noun for bison is an obstinacy.)

With that, the weekend's usual escapism comes with plenty of listens from the herd at APN. Hopefully someone will keep us in line with videos of delightful sheepdogs when we're tempted to argue with the siblings on just what to get Dad for Father's Day — maybe a set of foam antlers?

With ice cream, anything is popsicle — The week on APN — May 29-June 4

Nothing quells a pandemic heat wave like a shot of frozen sugar. As the cube freezer worked overtime to keep our treats from melting, we gathered round the kiddie pool for an intense cohort debate on the actual flavours of freezies. (After a subsequent google consultation, it turns out that white freezies are cream-soda-flavoured. Mind blown, right?)

Queue up, cool down, and get ready for the weekend with fresh episodes from your APN fam jam.
