Entertainment

Get your performing arts fix from I Don’t Get It, including a look at Edmonton’s theatre award nominations. Or go Broadway with Putting It Together, continuing the song-by-song journey through Forum with the always thoughtful Paul Matwychuk. Bollywood is For Lovers reviews Delhi Crime, a procedural about one of India’s most notorious crimes. Emily Missed Out revisits Super Troopers, I Have Some Notes fixes The Secret Life of Pets, and Not There Yet dives into Framing John Delorean. Josh’s sister Hannah talks about trashy books among other things on Press Start to Join, and The Read-Along continues its voyage through the non-trashy A Memory Called Empire.

Food

Did all that make you hungry? Good! Tomato Radio tells you all about the food happenings coming up in the Edmonton area. The Mess Hall Podcast visits with Michelle from Savour Fine Foods, which was named Calgary’s best kitchenware store. And Eat More Barbecue talks to Zach Bauer of the Holy Smokes BBQ Team and creator of the Barbecue Log Book.

Learning

Ed chats with Chris Cluff, a passionate educator who made the transition from chef to teacher, and uses his skills to reach kids who don’t fit the mould. Modern Manhood visits with Ryan Valley, co-founder of Men Edmonton and one of the men who guided host German Villegas into the pro-feminist masculinity movement. And Girl Tries Life talks to Kat Gaskin about the power of consistent planning, in business and in life.

Sports

The challenge with rounding up our sports podcasts every week is sometimes the things they preview — like the Stanley Cup or the NBA championship, for example — are over by the time we get a chance to talk to you here. But fear not — our podcasters always talk about more than just the game.

The CFL season has begun, so 2 and Out is coming out twice a week. They wrap up the preseason, then look ahead with Rod Smith of TSN. The 4th Line looks at Game 7 excitement and offseason moves, plus the wild joy in Toronto around the Raptors. Hockey Feels also shares its feelings about Game 7, and looks at the AHL champs and what’s going on in Arizona. (Also, never miss Rachel’s notes.) Tight Ends wraps up all the sporty happenings (which doesn’t include NFL, as it happens) and gets ready for summer. And Loyal Company of the River Valley gets ready for the Voyageurs Cup.

All of this is possible because of sponsors and partners. Also, be sure to fill out our listener survey before June 17!
