The Alberta Podcast Network grows to 30!

Today we welcome two more podcasts — A Branded World and Hockey Feels — into the Alberta Podcast Network, powered by ATB!

A Branded World is a podcast hosted by Luiza Campos, a marketing strategist based in Calgary who offers practical advice and deep expertise from herself and her guests. You'll hear lots of useful tips, told through the stories of entrepreneurs and leaders in Alberta and beyond.

Hockey Feels is, as the name suggests, a podcast about how hockey makes us feel. It offers a deep conversation about all kinds of hockey — NHL, junior, Olympic, international — between Steven Schapansky, an Oilers fan in Edmonton, and Rachel Donner, a Flyers fan in New York.

These two additions demonstrate the variety of shows we have. There is something for everyone here. But these two also make great companions for similar podcasts within the network. If you like That's So Maven, Girl Tries Life, Don't Call Me A Guru or Frank Reactions, you'll probably like A Branded World. And if you like The 4th Line's take on hockey, or the sports irreverence of Tight Ends, you'll likely enjoy Hockey Feels, too.

All of this is possible thanks to our founding sponsor, ATB Financial, and our other sponsors, the Edmonton Community Foundation and Alberta Women Entrepreneurs. You may be interested in a couple of things they're up to:

  • ATB is a major sponsor of AWE's Learning Day, which is coming up on Feb. 20 in Edmonton. This one-day conference features keynotes and workshops about human resources, operations, financing, marketing, technology, and mindset. You'll meet great people and gain valuable skills. Tickets are $99 before Jan. 19, $129 after. And, if you listen to some of our shows, you'll hear a promo code to get an additional 10 per cent off.
  • The Edmonton Community Foundation is helping the Edmonton Public Library bring Anita Sarkeesian to the city on Jan. 24 to speak about The Real World of Online Harassment. You can hear more about her work and her talk on Episode 16 of The Well Endowed Podcast.

And one more thing: If you've been thinking of starting a podcast, we have a workshop just for you. How to start a podcast: From notion to reality takes place on Jan. 27 at CKUA in Edmonton. You'll get help to refine your idea, determine resources and overcome technical challenges. Join Karen Unland, Steven Schapansky (yes, the same!) and his award-winning podcaster-partner Erika Ensign to get that idea out of your head and into the ears of your listeners.
